2025-06-07

I have released a public domain book on public libraries and their relation to free, open source ebooks. The title is "Public Domain Ivies; Lettuce: The Free and Open Ebook and Its Transformative Contribution of Knowledge, All for the Cost of a Raspberry Pi." It discusses the importance of open licensed ebooks and open educational resources, in pursuit of a global (free) digital public library. This is the culmination of my extensive use of ebooks, OER, open source, tablets, and working at the public library. I wanted to put down my thoughts on lifelong learning, in a form that hopefully doesn't come off as academic. I want to extol the benefits of public libraries, and how open ebooks automatically contribute to public libraries upon their creation, as they are able to be added to the digital library's stacks for free. This is part of my Little #96d7af Books series.
The book can be viewed and downloaded at: https://archive.org/details/public-domain-ivies-lettuce_202505 else on out gitlab.
